Jackal Twins Showcase Striking Emotion on Debut Album Cuzco
Providence-based trio Jackal Twins explode into view with Cuzco, a genre-defying, emotionally unstable debut album that holds nothing back. This 12-track album is a visceral dive into a hopeless romance, rage, and disillusionment, which Jackal Twins deliver through a sound that blends punk, post-rock, metalcore, noise, jazz, and chaotic hardcore into unsettling beauty and brutal honesty.
Recorded by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at GodCity Studios and mastered by Carl Saff (KEN mode), Cuzco is a DIY victory created through sheer determination. Drummer/vocalist Ben Trussell and guitarist/vocalist Mike Palumbo started tracking the album in closets that both members built when they had to go back to the drawing board with the remixes because the masters sounded so bad.
Dante Lamusta’s bass cuts through the sonic miasma to a certain punch. From the savage elegance of “Charcoal Lions” through the anguish and beauty strewn throughout the record. Lyrically poetic, vocally unhinged, and emotionally naked. This record must be heard. Jackal Twins have made their definitive mark, and it shakes, scars, and satisfies.
