Al Shalliker, the Plymouth-based alt-folk singer-songwriter, returns with his new single, "Time Out of Mind," the first release from his upcoming second solo album, The Diamond Hill. Known for his sharp, evocative storytelling, Al delivers a rock and roll-tinged, surrealist take on a hedonistic lifestyle, packed with wit and introspection. "Time Out of Mind" delves into the drivers behind destructive behaviors, taking a humorous yet reflective approach to recounting these tales.

With his musical roots in the band Watershed, Al has evolved significantly as a solo artist. His 2021 debut, Silver Linings, showed his range with hits like "Where All the Music Comes From" and "The Voyage." Now, his upcoming album promises to showcase more of Al’s matured and stripped-back sound, with "Time Out of Mind" being a standout introduction. The track blends classic songwriting with a fresh, contemporary twist, embodying the mix of folk-rock influences that have defined Al’s solo journey.

Supported by long-time collaborators Tony Davies on bass and Alex McGinnes on harmonica, Al has created a rich, authentic sound for The Diamond Hill.
