Composed, produced, and performed by Arkenstone, "Quest for the Runestone" features him on guitar, bass, handpan, percussion, sax, flute, whistle, melodica, and keyboards. His son Dashiell's narrative served as the first source of inspiration, sparking a creative frenzy that eventually produced music suitable for an album ready for recording.

Eric Rigler, known as "the most recorded bagpiper of all time," is one of the gifted artists on the album. His Uilleann pipes offer passionate, stirring waves of Celtic sound. Experienced in numerous Arkenstone recordings, Luanne Homzy captivates the senses with her intense violin playing and melancholic Hardanger fiddle from Scandinavia.
